Summer Holiday Essentials

August 31, 2016Beauty, Travel & Culture
Hoorah! I literally cannot contain my excitement that yesterday marks the one week countdown until Ollie and I are heading towards some sunshine. We managed to bag ourselves a bit of a last minute deal the other day which was a nice change of plans as we weren’t sure if we would make it on holiday this year.  After moving into our first house together three months ago a lot of our money has been put towards furnishing it which meant sacrificing any hopes of beachy dreams. However this didn’t quite stop us from secretly scouring for any crazy cheap deals and luckily enough we managed to stumble across a great deal to Majorca! So I’m looking forward to sharing some blog posts in the future on what I might find on my adventures of the Balearic Islands.

As my countdown begins though I decided to write a cheeky little post on what essentials I am packing into my suitcase. I’ve made a couple of great purchases recently which I think will be just perfect for our little trip away. First up is the most essential holidaying item for any girl or boy (unless you’re scared of water that is) and that’s the swimsuit! I picked up this number from the Topshop Sale for a really reasonable price of £12!! It’s got a gorgeous deep neck, cute little mesh sides and backless detail – so chuffed with this find.  Also from the Topshop sale I managed to grab these lovely gold detailed sandals which I absolutely adore. I think these will be a staple item in my holiday as it’s so easy to pair black shoes with almost any outfit! I hit the pan on my Bronzer recently and was in desperate need of a new one. Fancying something different I decided to head to Debenhams and see if I could get some advice on a good Bronzer that would suit my skin type.  At the Urban Decay counter a lady kindly applied some of this Beached Bronzer to my cheeks and I fell in love instantly. The pigment was perfect and colour really suited my warm skin tones. Can’t wait to add a little extra holiday glow to my looks with this cute little number – the packaging is way nice!

For my skin I will be taking these two Body Sorbets which I picked up from The Body Shop. They have the delicious scents of Pina Colada and Mango which are so summery, sweet and refreshing I’ll probably want to eat myself afterwards! I have read some reviews saying they do tend to leave a sticky feeling however so I’ll have to see how well I get on with them! Also from Body Shop is this great little Vitamin E face mist which has a lovely rose water scent. It’s great for holding makeup (perfect for those hot and sweaty climates) and also for refreshing those moments where your make up can begin to look dull and lifeless. Lastly for my hair I will be taking an old time favourite for many – the Toni&Guy sea salt spray. Now of course during the day I will be getting plenty of natural sea salt in my locks from all that Mediterranean swimming however I do tend to wash my hair most days on holiday, so to keep that wavy beach bob I lust after I will be using a few drops of this! – FYI/BTW I don’t normally wash my hair everyday it’s just that I’m more of a beach babe then a poolside lover so my hair tends to need a bit
more care after all that sea air.
