With the notion of Summer gracing the air, and potentially hurtling towards us faster than I was first expecting. I thought it was high time a little break down of my plans for the next coming months made it on the blog. I mean are you really a blogger if you don’t make a seasonal list of things you plan to do? (Who am I to talk this is the first time I’ve actually ever done this but I cant help but notice it definitely seems to be a blogger thing).
I was actually inspired to write this after a lovely day spent sunbathing on one of the favourite seaside hot spots in Suffolk – Aldeburgh. Considering that last weekend (the early may bank holiday) was one of the hottest bank holidays in a long time it was only natural to feel like Summer was a lot closer than we’d first imagined. Therefore as I basked in the sweltering heats I lay back and thought of all the things I’m looking forward to doing this summer. Now as I sit here, half trying to concentrate on the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy and half trying to write this post – it’s time to share what I hope to get up to over these Summer months.
Okay so perhaps not the most exciting thing to be getting up to but we actually are really looking forward to our house move at the end of this month. After living together for two years, Ollie and I decided it was time to think smart and downsize to a house which was smaller and cheaper so we could save up for some big adventures and perhaps one day actually buying our very own place.Though packing and moving out is stressful (and I mean STRESSFUL) we are super excited to get in the new house and put our little stamp on it and make it our own home.
A long weekend in Edinburgh
For Christmas I decided to get Ollie tickets to the final day of The Open (as in the golf tournament). I am not the biggest sporting fan but I do enjoy Golf funnily enough, and Ollie is a huge enthusiast so it made sense. As the tournament is based in Scotland I thought it was the perfect excuse to do something Ollie loved whilst also getting to have a break for the two of us in the gorgeous city of Edinburgh.
Birthday Bashes Galore
The majority of my close friends, and myself, all have birthdays in Summer so the next few months will definitely be infused with a lot of booze fuelled weekends. Every year for my birthday I like to throw an over the top party with an equally over the top theme. Last year was anything 80’s goes which ended up with a very drunken soul train session. This year I would love to go for a Ru Paul themed party! Category is: Birthday Extravaganza!
A Weekend in Brighton
That last time I visited the beautiful seaside town of Brighton was nearly 4 years ago. Yikes time flies. I lived in London at the time and headed there on the train with some friends for a day visit, we wandered briefly through the town but spent the majority of the day at the pier. This time around I am looking forward to getting to spend more time there and really explore the many beauties this place beholds.
A holiday, hopefully
Due to what feels like spending our entire lifes savings on moving (I mean how expensive do letting agent fees want to be) we decided not to book any holidays until after our move has happened and we are all settled in. Therefore I have been avoiding looking at any holidays in an attempt to not make myself sad with envy at wanting to book one. We’ve pondered on a few ideas of where to go though, I would love to go to Egypt or perhaps India (after lusting at In The Frows recent escapades there) Greece is also really calling my name, I have never been (except for a day trip to Rhodes once) and would love to visit some of the beautiful islands around there.
What are you looking forward to doing this Summer? Let me know in the comments below!
All my love x
