After experiencing a long weekend of temperatures hitting record breaking highs for the Early May Bank Holiday (yes I did wear sunscreen and yes I did still get burnt) I’m slowly coming down off the high of a long weekend in the sun. That and perhaps a mild case of too much heat has made my head go slightly funny. May is one of my favourite months of the year purely for the reason that it beholds not one but two Bank Holidays. After all, who doesn’t love longer weekends and shorter working weeks.
This Bank holiday saw the attempts of tidying up our ever expanding collection of weeds in the garden, a rather boozy BBQ and a day stretched out sunbathing on the busy beachfront of Aldeburgh. With the weather being so beautiful and the vibes of the weekend so cheerful and relaxed, coming back to work this Tuesday is a little bit of a thorn in the side. It almost feels like stepping off the plane after a blissful holiday and entering into a rainy UK. Perhaps I should be grateful it’s not raining ay!
Not only do I love the warmer seasons for its abundance of BBQs and fun day outs, but also the excuse to introduce some floaty little summer dress numbers into le old wardrobe. Which is what brings us to why we are all here. Or perhaps should I say the main reason to why I write this post. This gorgeous wrap midi dress which I recently received from ikrush.com
As you all should hopefully know by now, I am a huge advocate for affordable fashion when it comes to my blog. I strongly believe that blogging/influencing can have quite an impact on a persons views, after all it wouldn’t be called influencing if it didn’t. People are often led to feel these certain pressures of not feeling adequate enough if they don’t have the latest designer bags or aren’t boarding planes to hop across to the Maldives. The lifestyle of some people on social media should never be a measure to how you live your own life. Spending ridiculous amounts of £££ on clothing and lifestyle is not the norm in the day-to-day life of an everyday 20 something year old. Creating a platform which can be completely accessible for all people in their 20s/30s has always been my biggest goal and finding wonderful affordable brands to work with which embodies this has been one of the greatest pleasures.
IKRUSH are killing it with their wonderful selections of on-trend affordable pieces and it’s safe to say I quickly became a huge fan. The quality of the items I received were to a high standard and I adore this dress in particular as it is so flattering on the arms and legs (two of my most conscious areas). You can be assured this little midi number is going to be frequenting my outfits/instagram rather a lot this Summer. Plus there are a couple more lovely items I received which will be winging their way into some blog posts over the next month so keep an eye out if you’d like to see more from this fab brand! All my love
